Happy Father's Day!

Fatherhood is not just making babies, but to be deeply involved in the care, feeding, playing and spending quality time with their kids, to make them safe, educating them and making them responsible and caring beings. Mother Nature has many examples of great fathers, that often risks their lives to protect their offspring's.

One example are the amazing hippocampus (sea horses) and their pipefish and sea dragon relatives, are the only species whose male members give birth to young. Watch a Seahorse Give Birth to 2,000 Babies | National Geographic - YouTube

Other great father are the emperor penguin dads. The female emperor penguin lays a single egg and then goes to sea to feed, leaving the male to care for the egg. For over two months, the male penguin rests the egg on his feet and covers it with a fold of warm skin.

Among Darwin frogs, it is the male who swallows and stores the developing tadpoles--in his vocal sac. Midwife Toads attach the fertilized eggs to their hind legs. The male carries the eggs around this way for about a month, sometimes dipping them in water to keep them moist.

Love, safety and quality time are priceless among most animal species. The hardest thing is to let your babies go, but C'est la vie. Good and wise raised kids will be responsible adults, and will have more chance to survive the real wild adulthood world, as humans or other animals.

For humans, it is important to remember that the best things in life are the quality of activities done together and the great memories created. The best things in life are FREE.

Money doesn't buy love, but just corrupts it. Giving everything a child desires doesn't make a child wise or good, but just spoils it, making them irresponsible, selfish, immature and without creativity or skills to be self sufficient.

Give love instead, do not buy it for your child's sake.
